preparation of my lesson

I stayed at home all day. I made a textbook for my hand sewing lesson all afternoon. After supper, I prepared for the lesson. I traced many parts on several pieces of cloth with some patterns, and I cut them out. But I didn't finish doing it.

My fortune slip

My husband and I visited the temple called Gokokuji. We go to the temple every New Year holiday. After we threw in a coin to the offering box, we drew a fortune slip as usual. My paper was good fortune. It was written in English on the reverse. It says," 16. Good Fortune :  If you are upright and steadfast, you will be famous and will have good fortune; if you have evil intentions, nothing will profit; your future looks bright if you see to it that you pray to the Divine and live each day without bringing any shame on yourself."

The sample for my lesson

Today was New Year's Day. My husband lay down on a sofa and he enjoyed watching the New Year's programs on TV all day, meanwhile, I made a sample for my hand sewing lesson all day. The sample was a pair of turtle coasters. It was based on my mother's design, but I changed the design greatly. Because her design was difficult to sew, so I thought my students might not like it. I finished making it by midnight.

My lesson

I gave a lesson on aromatherapy and a herbal lesson in the afternoon. Today's lesson was the same lesson as last Saturday. I taught my students how to make a bees wax candle and I taught them how to make a candle with bees wax sheets. They enjoyed making the two kinds of candle this time, too. Their candles were really nice, so they each took pictures of each other's work. Of course, I took pictures of them, too. This lesson was the last lesson of this year.

My lesson

I gave a lesson on aromatherapy and a herbal lesson in the afternoon. My student Keiko and Junko came to my home after a long time. First, I taught them how to make a bees wax candle. Both of them enjoyed making the candle. Next, I lectured about the bees wax and so on. Then I taught them how to make a candle with the bees wax sheets. They enjoyed making the candle, too. Their candles were wonderful, so I took the pictures of them.

My homework

I stayed at home all day. I made my homework teddy bear again. I struggled embroidering the nose of the teddy bear, so I did it over and over again until I was fully satisfied. I finally finished making the teddy bear.

I stayed at home all day. I started my homework for my teddy bear making lesson in the afternoon. First I traced many parts of my homework teddy bear on a quarter of yard of pale yellow fur with their patterns, and then I cut them out. The teddy bear of my homework was about 40cm tall, so it took 2 hours to trace and cut. After supper, I started sewing the teddy bear. While sewing I watched TV until quite late.
