Sewing

I started my fourth mail order patchwork quilting course work from the afternoon. I was going to sew the work, but I didn't. Because it took many times to trace many parts on 2 kinds of cloth with several patterns and it took a lot of time to cut them out. I never expected it to take so much time, so I'm going to sew it later on. After supper, I watched my favorite drama series on video which I had recorded.

I made a sample for my hand sewing lesson in the evening. The sample's design is by my dead mother, but I changed a part of the design. I referred to my second mail order patch work quilting course work. Because the handle and the bottom of the course work was easier to sew than hers. After supper, I kept making the sample. Finally I finished it at midnight. It was a relief for me.

My lesson

I gave a lesson on aromatherapy and a handsewing lesson in the afternoon. The lesson was the same lesson as this Monday. My students enjoyed making the rose milky lotion and turtle coaster making this time, too. After the lesson, while eating some sweets and drinking a cup of herbal tea we enjoyed talking.

My lesson

I gave a lesson on aromatherapy and a hand sewing lesson in the afternoon. First, I taught my students how to make the rose milky lotion. When my students mixed the lotion materials, they seemed to be excited. Because the work was similar to making a cake. Then I taught them how to make a turtle's coaster. While sewing we enjoyed talking a lot. After the lesson, I made herbal tea for my students. I gave the tea and some sweets to them, and we enjoyed talking for a while.

My lesson and the sample for my lesson

I gave a lesson on aromatherapy and a herbal lesson in the afternoon. The lesson was the same lesson as last month. I taught my student Mariko how to make a bees wax candle and I taught her how to make a candle with the bees wax sheets. Her work was really nice and cute, so I took a picture of it this time, too. After supper, I made a sample for my aromatherapy lesson. The sample was the rose milky lotion. I made it with a little palm emulsifying wax, a little virgin shea butter, a few rose petals, boiled water and a little sweet almond oil, and finally I put several kinds of essential oils into it. I tried it on my face at once, it really added moisture to the skin. I hope my students like it.

I stayed at home all day. I made a textbook for my aromatherapy lesson. Then I prepared for my hand sewing lesson again. I counted many beads and many star shapes spangles, and I threaded a needle together the beads and spangles for each my students. I packed the lesson's materials into a fancy plastic bag for each my students. I managed to finish preparing for the lesson within today.

Tokyo tower

My husband and I went to Ikebukuro by bus. We had lunch at my favorite chinese noodle shop. Then we went to Onarimon by subway. We visited a temple called Zojo-ji. There were many people, so we had to stand in a line to visit the main temple. It took 30 minutes to wait  my turn. Then we went to Tokyo tower and we went to the observatory. He took many pictures of the night view from there.

I stayed at home all day. I made a textbook for my hand sewing lesson all afternoon. After supper, I prepared for the lesson. I traced many parts on several pieces of cloth with some patterns, and I cut them out. But I didn't finish doing it.

My fortune slip

My husband and I visited the temple called Gokokuji. We go to the temple every New Year holiday. After we threw in a coin to the offering box, we drew a fortune slip as usual. My paper was good fortune. It was written in English on the reverse. It says," 16. Good Fortune :  If you are upright and steadfast, you will be famous and will have good fortune; if you have evil intentions, nothing will profit; your future looks bright if you see to it that you pray to the Divine and live each day without bringing any shame on yourself."

The sample for my lesson

Today was New Year's Day. My husband lay down on a sofa and he enjoyed watching the New Year's programs on TV all day, meanwhile, I made a sample for my hand sewing lesson all day. The sample was a pair of turtle coasters. It was based on my mother's design, but I changed the design greatly. Because her design was difficult to sew, so I thought my students might not like it. I finished making it by midnight.
